Set after the conclusion of the original, Kill la Kill: Then imagines a continuation of the original, which explores a world fundamentally altered by the actions of the Kiryuuin Clan and the reveal of the Life-Fibers to the wider public. The land of the rising sun is left fractured after the collapse of Kiryuuin Conglomerate while science and industry push past red-lines. With her fabric being the fuel of the revolution, Ryuko, her friend Mako, and Satsuki have to find their place in an uncertain, transforming world.
The story picks up roughly where the anime had ended. I'm not much of a writer, I'm somewhat predisposed towards looking at larger, overarching systems, which will make it slightly difficult to focus on our individual heroes, Ryuko, Satsuki, and Mako. Nevertheless I do not want to be writing a textbook, and I want to present everything to the viewer through the perspective of the main characters. If I manage to handle it well, maybe we'll get something nice out of it, otherwise we'll have something to laugh about.
Progress
Initially I planed to complete this during the summer of 2026; I have underestimated the time this would take, but I am happy to say that the rough edges are being chiseled, and it is starting to take a form that is far more interesting than I have originally plaend. Do remember that I am wholly new to this and take my biased opinions with a grain of salt, but I am glad that I am taking my time :D
This project originally started under the name Kill la Kill: Revolution, which described its content, but was amazingly uninspired. Thus, when a new idea arrived, I changed it.
